Written by Rebecca “Bonks” Rothschild
Frank Forte, an animation powerhouse with projects under his belt like “Despicable Me 2,” and “Bob’s Burgers.” Forte’s latest opus is a Youtube partner channel called Goon Cartoons. The cartoons featured pay tribute to old school slapstick and Tex Avery style humor with charming animation styles.
“We’ll be using traditional 2D on paper, Flash, After Effects, stop motion, claymation, cut paper, Super 8 and anything else we can get our hands on,” said Forte.
Enlisted talent includes “Ren and Stimpy” materminds Jim Smith (“Monsters vs. Aliens”) and Gene McGuckin (“Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends”). Also on the docket is Elizabeth J. Musgrave who had her hands on “Hell Comes to Hollywood.”
For anyone *sighing* for the old incredibly vulgar cartoons from Nikelodeon’s early days or if you’ve been missing MTV’s Cartoon Sushi then you’ll want to bookmark this: http://www.youtube.com/
