Background
Sugar Gamers was founded in August of 2009 by Keisha Howard and has grown into one of the most innovative and exciting female gaming groups in Chicago. Sugar Gamers is known for its ability to integrate the interest of a tech savvy subculture with trendy events and fashion which creates an exhilarating alternative for those who live a “geek chic lifestyle”.
In addition to Sugar Gamers being offered as a social alternative, the organization offers a broad range of capabilities. We can be an effective vehicle for advertising and promotion as well as a resource of for market research on women in regards to certain products. Other capabilities include event planning and video game journalism. Sugar Gamers has a presence locally as well as online which enables people to meet and interact with one another in a way that is becoming limited do to the rise in technological communication. Therefore, we are extremely effective in recruiting members who will remain active and loyal as well as enacting strategic marketing techniques that are memorable and distinctive.
With the combined experience of a diverse staff, Sugar Gamers is universally appealing, even to people who don’t consider themselves gamers or “geeks”. With these strong innovations, Sugar Gamers will continue to grow popularity and gain media attention.
Sugar Gamers Concept
Sugar Gamers is a Social Organization that caters to female gamers and beyond (women interested in anime, sci-fi, fantasy, board gaming, cosplay, sports, or any male dominated hobbies). This organization will allow women to connect with other women with the same interest locally and internationally. This organization can also be used as a vehicle of self promotion- (if the business, talent, or product falls into this subculture). All members will be allowed to blog on the site if they choose.
Ultimately, an organization such as this will empower women. I want to emphasize the intelligence, talent, depth of personality, as well as physical beauty of the members to make them confident and embrace themselves as unique and desirable individuals. This will also provide alternatives to young women besides, clubbing, drinking, clinging to relationships and being overly aware physical appearances.
These alternatives will be gaming events, humanitarian efforts, conventions, having an audience to blog to or share ideas in addition to physical activities such as paintballing, whirleyballing, etc.
