An- An

Every one of my parents’ close friends had sons, so naturally I grew up as a tomboy exposed to sports and video games.  I was raised on the classic Sega and Sonic the Hedgehog with consistent exposure to the Nintendo systems as well.

I do not exactly fit the stereotype of what is called a “gamer” nowadays but because of my surroundings, I still play recreationally as a way to relax and get away from reality.  My all time favorites are Mario Kart and Burnout Revenge since I have my moments of road rage here and there.

My background is in management and marketing so professionally I hold a position at in IT firm in Management Consulting.  I also own a Mary Kay business and am looking to start a fashion boutique in the next year or two.

Sports and artsy pastimes keep me sane. I love playing volleyball, DANCING, sketching and have recently taken up shooting.  I hope to be able to have time and resources to own a horse in the near future so that I can take up riding as well.

All my life, I’ve played video games, but pretty much everyone I played with has been a male:  the family friends that grew up with, my roommates, boyfriends, etc.  I rarely even bring up the idea of video games with the girls to my network.  It would be nice to add a little variation to the girls that I spend time with.  Also, it is easier to hold a conversation and get to know someone while playing a game rather than over the music at the clubs.

To me Sugar Gamers is an organization that brings together girls with very different backgrounds and one definitive common interest.  I hope to get to know these girls and learn something different from each one.
