Show Me the Shiny! Tryst
Written by Rebecca “Bonks” Rothschild
Designed with the seasoned RTS player in mind is Blue Giant Interactive’s “Tryst” which is now available on Steam amd Gamersgate. The indie RTS wants to give players a new twist on the genre with original Multiplayer gameplay and character development.
The gloves are off when it comes to traversing the interface, as there isn’t really a tutorial to guide you but the layout is comprehensive. If you want the story you’ll have to do your own research. The different facets of the story can be attained by exploring a few different portals in the main menu. There’s a large cast of colorful characters with lots of personality that guide you through the solo campaign. The graphics are complimented with a unique color pallet and stylized screen interface.
“Tryst” allows the player to combine units making them stronger and the more you use your units the stronger they become. The standout feature is the ability to completely customize a unit to the player’s specific needs which makes for a very unpredictable multiplayer experience. There is no set formula for victory when it comes to “Tryst.” The game is intended for players to devise strategies carefully and often you’re not given a lot of time to do so.
